Standard&Poor's Ratings Services has assigned its 'AAA' long-term rating to Naperville, Ill.'s series 2010A-D general obligation (GO) bonds. We also affirmed our 'AAA' rating on the city's GO debt outstanding. The rating reflects our assessment of the city's: Participation in the deep and diverse Chicago, Ill. metropolitan area economy; Large, well-diversified tax base that features a substantial corporate presence; Very strong income levels; Very strong financial position with strong managerial practices; and Low overall debt burden. The series 2010 bonds are general obligations of the city payable from unlimited ad valorem taxes. Naperville will use bond proceeds to finance various capital projects and refund prior debt.
