S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'AA-' long-term rating to Hamilton County, Ohio's series 2016A sales tax refunding bonds. The outlook is stable. A pledge of a dedicated 0.5% sales and use tax levied throughout Hamilton County secures the bonds. The sales tax was authorized by voters in 1996 for the purpose of developing the downtown Cincinnati riverfront, including the construction of new stadiums for the Cincinnati Bengals professional football team and the Cincinnati Reds professional baseball team. The county owns the stadiums and leases them to the respective teams. The 2016A bonds are on parity with the county's series 2000B, 2011A, and 2006A sales tax bonds. There are no subordinate liens.
