CHICAGO (S&P Global Ratings) June 8, 2016--S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'AA-' long-term rating to Hamilton County, Ohio's series 2016A sales tax refunding bonds. The outlook is stable. Proceeds of the 2016A bonds will be used to refinance the county's series 2006A sales tax refunding bonds for interest cost savings. "The long-term rating reflects our assessment of the county's access to the broad and diverse Cincinnati metropolitan area economy, fairly stable sales tax revenue stream, good maximum annual debt service coverage, and adequate legal provisions," said S&P Global Ratings credit analyst Benjamin Gallovic.
