The rating on Emmaus General Authority, Pa.'s series 1989 B-17 bonds, is based on an irrevocable letter of credit (LOC) provided by Bayerische Landesbank Girozentrale, New York Branch (rated `AA/A-1+'). The LOC will cover interest on and principal of the related loan, as well as cover the purchase price of tenders. The bonds are dated Sept. 2, 1997. The bonds will be subject to mandatory tender on Jan. 3, 2000. The LOC expires on Jan. 14, 2000.
