Standard&Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AAA' long-term rating to the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD), Calif.'s series 2015A wastewater system revenue refunding bonds. At the same time, Standard&Poor's affirmed its 'AAA' long-term rating and underlying rating (SPUR) on the district's outstanding wastewater system revenue bonds. Standard&Poor's also affirmed its 'A-1+' short-term rating on the district's extendable commercial paper (ECP) notes (wastewater series). The outlook, where applicable, is stable. The ratings reflect our view of the wastewater system's: Mature customer base, which is located in the large and diverse San Francisco Bay Area regional economy; History of annual rate increases, which have led to stable financial performance; and Strong liquidity position.
