Standard&Poor's Ratings Services raised its rating on Bear Stearns Municipal Securities Trust Certificates class A certificates series 2002-185, relating to Atlanta, Ga. water and wastewater revenue bonds series 1999, to 'AAA/A-1' from 'AA/A-1'. The upgrade is based on the addition of secondary bond insurance provided by FSA. The underlying bonds also have primary market bond insurance provided by FGIC, and a Standard&Poor's underlying rating (SPUR) of 'A'. The short-term component of the rating is based on a liquidity facility provided by Bear Stearns Capital Markets Inc. (NR) with a guarantee provided by Bear Stearns Cos. Inc. ('A+/A-1') scheduled to expire on Jan. 24, 2009. The stable outlook is based on the bond insurer, FSA.
