SAO PAULO (Standard&Poor's) April 23, 2010--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that it assigned its 'BBB' senior unsecured debt rating to $250 million in notes of Banco Bradesco S.A. (BBB/Stable/A-3). The issue is U.S. dollar denominated with a three-year maturity, which we classify as a medium term. The issue-level rating on the notes is the same as the long-term counterparty credit rating on Bradesco. The rating on Bradesco incorporates the bank's prominence and strong franchise in the Brazilian banking industry, capable management, and strong funding and liquidity. However, a weakening in the bank's asset quality, challenging operating conditions, and more local competition partially offset these strengths.
