LONDON -- Standard&Poor's CreditWire 4/1/97 -- Standard&Poor's today has affirmed its single-`A'-plus corporate credit and `A-1' commercial paper ratings of Daimler-Benz AG and its related entities. At the same time the long-term outlook is revised to stable from negative. The ratings reflect Daimler Benz's position as a leading producer of higher-priced, luxury cars, and its conservative financial profile. Past diversification efforts increased Daimler's presence in aerospace and defense, and rail systems. While financial performance of these businesses has generally been poor, the company's business position has continued to be supported by its excellent passenger car operations.
