On Feb. 14, 2007, Standard&Poor's Ratings Services raised its ratings on U.S. Bancorp (USB), including its counterparty credit ratings to 'AA/A-1+' from 'AA-/A-1+'. Standard&Poor's also raised its long-term counterparty credit ratings on USB's subsidiaries, U.S. Bank National Association and U.S. Bank National Association, ND, to 'AA+' from 'AA'. These ratings were removed from CreditWatch Positive, where they had been placed on Nov. 1, 2006. The CP ratings on these entities, which had not been on CreditWatch, were affirmed at 'A-1+'. The outlook is stable. The upgrade reflects USB's continuing generation of well-above-average profitability among its peer group of large regional and large complex banks, even while it has maintained a relatively low-risk business mix and growth
