About This Report

Abstract:

Curacao enjoys a stable democratic parliamentary political system within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Curacao also has a strong government balance sheet, somewhat offset by limited monetary and exchange rate flexibility and low per capita GDP growth. We are affirming our 'A-/A-2' long- and short-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit ratings on Curacao. The stable outlook reflects our expectation of small fiscal surpluses, large current account deficits, and continuity in economic policy over the coming three to four years. On March 13, 2015, Standard&Poor's Ratings Services affirmed its 'A-/A-2' long- and short-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit ratings on the government of Curacao. The outlook remains stable. We also affirmed our 'A-' transfer and convertibility assessment.
