Following a review of Banco G&T Continental under Standard&Poor's revised bank criteria (published on Nov. 9, 2011), we have raised the global-scale rating on the bank to 'BB' from 'BB-'. The outlook is negative. We are withdrawing the survivability assessment of the bank's diversified payment rights (DPR) since it is no longer needed according to our new financial future flow transaction criteria (published on Nov. 14, 2011). The ratings reflect the bank's strong business position; moderate capital, earnings, and risk position; average funding compared with other Guatemalan and Latin American banks; and adequate liquidity. We could lower the ratings on the bank if we downgrade Guatemala. As we previously announced, on Dec. 13, 2011, Standard&
