Global e-commerce retailer Amazon.com has performed strongly in a generally difficult retail environment. The company continues to maintain above-average credit ratios as a result of very solid operational performance. We are raising our corporate credit rating on Amazon to 'A' from 'A-'. The stable rating outlook reflects our expectations for continued strong momentum in performance and for credit metrics to remain above average. On Feb. 23, 2011, Standard&Poor's Ratings Services raised its corporate credit rating on Seattle-based Amazon.com Inc. to 'A' from 'A-'. The outlook is stable. The upgrade reflects the company's strong performance during the recession, a weak retail environment and increased investment in its business while maintaining already above-average credit protection profile and conservative financial policies.
