NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) Jan. 2, 2013--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services has raised its general obligation (GO) rating on Douglasville, Ga. one notch to 'AA-' from 'A+'. "The upgrade is based on the city's very strong financial position, including a more favorable sales tax sharing agreement beginning in 2013, and signs of improvement in the local economy," said Standard&Poor's credit analyst Lindsay Wilhelm. At the same time, we assigned our 'AA-' long-term rating to Douglasville Convention and Conference Center Authority, Ga.'s series 2013 revenue refunding bonds, issued on behalf of Douglasville. The outlook on all ratings is stable. The 2013 bonds are limited obligations payable solely from amounts paid to the authority pursuant to an intergovernmental contract
