DALLAS (Standard&Poor's) Aug. 13, 2013--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services has raised its rating on Atlanta, Ga.'s revenue bonds to 'A+' from 'A'. At the same time, Standard&Poor's has assigned its 'A+' rating, with a stable outlook, to the city's series 2013A and 2013B water and wastewater revenue refunding bonds. The bonds are secured by net revenues of the water and wastewater system, net of sales tax revenues collected for system maintenance and operation expenses. "The upgrade reflects a number of positive credit factors, specifically clarity regarding the system's long-term capital needs and the impact of those needs on rates and future financial performance," said Standard&Poor's credit analyst James Breeding.
