On Sept. 24, 2013, we raised the foreign and local currency credit ratings on Jamaica to 'B-/B' from 'CCC+/C' following the government's moderately enhanced room for maneuver and ability to service its debt after the government entered into an IMF program, along with additional external funding from other multilateral lenders. We are raising our ratings on National Commercial Bank Jamaica to 'B-/B' from 'CCC+/C'. We are also removing the ratings on the bank from CreditWatch with negative implications and assigning a stable outlook. We expect the ratings on the bank to move in tandem with the ones on the sovereign.
