Meta Platforms Inc.'s Proposed Senior Unsecured Notes Rated 'AA-'

NEW YORK (S&P Global Ratings) May 1, 2023--S&P Global Ratings today assigned its 'AA-' issue-level rating to Menlo Park, Calif.-based Meta Platforms Inc.'s (Meta) proposed senior unsecured notes. The company plans to use the proceeds from these notes to bolster its exceptional liquidity profile and for general corporate purposes, including to fund capital expenditure, potential acquisitions, investments, and share repurchases. We rate Meta's unsecured debt at the same level as our long-term issuer credit rating because there is no priority debt in its capital structure and it benefits from a net cash position.
