Meta Platforms Inc.'s Proposed Senior Unsecured Notes Rated 'AA-'

CHICAGO (S&P Global Ratings) Aug. 4, 2022--S&P Global Ratings today assigned its 'AA-' issue-level rating (the same level as our long-term issuer credit rating) to Meta Platforms Inc.'s proposed issuance of senior unsecured notes ranging in maturity term from five to 40 years. Meta plans to use the proceeds from the proposed notes to bolster its exceptional liquidity profile and for general corporate purposes, including capital expenditures, potential acquisitions, and share repurchases. We rate Meta's unsecured debt at the same level as our long-term issuer credit rating because there is no priority debt in the capital structure and there is minimal financial risk.
