Standard&Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AAA' long-term rating to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) approximately $550 million series C taxable general obligation (GO) bonds. In addition, Standard&Poor's affirmed its 'AAA' long-term rating and 'AAA/A-1+' rating on MIT's outstanding debt, some of which was issued by the Massachusetts Development Finance Agency (formerly known as the Massachusetts Health and Educational Facilities Authority). The outlook is stable. The 'AAA' rating reflects our view of MIT's substantial endowment, incredible demand for its programs, growth in research, and consistently strong operating performance.
