DALLAS (Standard&Poor's) July 10, 2014--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services raised its rating on the town of Groton, Mass.' general obligation (GO) debt one notch to 'AAA' from 'AA+' based on Standard&Poor's local GO criteria, published Sept. 12, 2013, on RatingsDirect. The outlook is stable. "We believe, what we consider, Groton's very strong economy and very strong management conditions have resulted in very strong budgetary performance. We also believe Groton will likely maintain, what we regard as, very strong liquidity and strong budgetary flexibility," said Standard&Poor's credit analyst Stephen Doyle.
