About This Report

Abstract:

NEW YORK (S&P Global Ratings) Feb. 9, 2023--S&P Global Ratings today said it expects Lincoln National Corp. (BBB+/Stable/A-2) and its rated subsidiaries (collectively Lincoln Financial Group, or LFG) to maintain financial strength following the recently announced CFO transition from Randy Freitag to Christopher Neczypor. We view LFG's management team as both risk aware and as having deep expertise and bench strength, which is why we expect the financial strength built under Freitag's decades of leadership to continue under Neczypor and CEO Ellen Cooper. Our ratings on LFG are unaffected. However, we are closely monitoring LFG's capital management and competitive strategies as the newly reshuffled team navigates the wake of its recent material actuarial update, a transition to long-duration targeted improvement
