About This Report

Abstract:

NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) Jan. 16, 2015--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today said that the European Commission's letter to Luxembourg that Amazon's tax structure in Luxembourg constituted state aid bears watching because of the possible claims on cash. However, this has no immediate impact on our 'AA-' corporate credit rating on Amazon.com Inc. Amazon has previously said that an adverse resolution could require additional amounts of taxes for current, prior periods and future periods. Amazon is reported to be one of several companies being investigated for their European tax structures in various countries. For more information please see, "Amazon.com Inc.'s Proposed Senior Unsecured Notes Rated 'AA-'," published Dec. 1, 2014, and "Summary: Amazon.com Inc.," published Aug. 14, 2014.
