SAO PAULO (S&P Global Ratings) Oct. 29, 2019--S&P Global Ratings said today that its ratings on Brazil-based infrastructure operator, Investimentos e Participações em Infraestrutura S.A. – Invepar (Invepar; CCC+/Negative/--), are not affected following Rio de Janeiro's latest attempt to cancel the concession of Linha Amarela S.A. (LAMSA). This entity is Invepar's subsidiary and has the rights to operate until 2037 the 17-kilometer urban highway linking the western and northern parts of the city. Similar to its three prior attempts, the Rio City Council announced on October 25th that it would unilaterally cancel the concession, this time claiming that LAMSA already obtained returns above those defined in the contract.
