LONDON (S&P Global Ratings) Feb. 10, 2026--S&P Global Ratings said today that Barclays PLC?s (BBB+/Stable/A-2) new financial targets for 2028 build on the positive momentum established by its 2024-2026 strategic plan. Its priorities include further technology-driven efficiency gains, deeper customer relationships, and a continued rebalancing away from the investment bank division. Achieving these goals would narrow the performance gap to more profitable global systemically important bank peers. Barclays? capital guidance is broadly unchanged and remains a relative strength in our rating. Barclays announced today that it met its 2025 earnings guidance and expects further progress through 2028. Its targets include: Raising its return on tangible equity above 14% in 2028 from 11.3%
