TORONTO (Standard&Poor's) Oct. 1, 2007--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today said that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board's decision to void AltaLink L.P.'s (A-/Stable/--) application to construct and operate a 500-kilovolt line between Edmonton and Calgary, Alta., would not currently affect the ratings on AltaLink or AltaLink Investments L.P. (BBB-/Stable/--). The decision will, at a minimum, postpone AltaLink's construction of the line. AltaLink has said it will bring forward a new application to promote the building of the line within its franchise. It is unclear when a new application will be launched and if the regulator will approve.
