...NEW YORK (S&P Global Ratings) July 29, 2016--S&P Global Ratings today said Mountain View, Calif.-based global technology company Alphabet Inc.'s second-quarter 2016 results reflect continued strong revenue and profit growth as expected, consistent with the rating and outlook, which remain unchanged. Alphabet Inc., Google Inc.'s parent holding company, generated total revenues of $21.5 billion in the second quarter of 2016, up 21% on a year-over-year basis and up 25% excluding the impact of negative foreign currency. The strong growth in the second quarter was, similar to the first quarter of 2016, primarily because of the increased use of mobile search by consumers but also from solid growth in desktop and tablet search and YouTube and programmatic advertising. An overwhelming majority of revenue still comes from Google, with $21.3 billion during the period.
