MELBOURNE (Standard&Poor's) May 1, 2014--Standard&Poor's Rating Services said today that Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Ltd.'s (ANZ) fiscal 2014 first-half results, announced today, are consistent with Standard&Poor's current ratings and outlook (AA-/Stable/A-1+) on ANZ. Earnings were strong, with cash profit of A$3.5 billion, up 11% on fiscal 2013 first half results. Group revenues were up 3.6%, including for all major operating divisions (Australia, New Zealand, International and Institutional Banking, and Global Wealth), and outstripped expense growth of 1.7%. While revenues grew strongly in key Asian product lines and geographies, our ongoing focus remains on how well risks are being managed in Asia and elsewhere.
