NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) Jan. 23, 2002— Boeing Co. today reported solid operating performance for 2001, but expects weakness in commercial aerospace to outweigh growth in other businesses in 2002 and 2003. Standard&Poor's ratings on Boeing Co. (AA-/Watch Neg/A-1+) and Boeing Capital Corp. (AA-/Watch Neg/A-1+) remain on CreditWatch with negative implications, where they were placed Sept. 21, 2001. Boeing's revenues, operating earnings, and operating profit margins were up in all segments last year, excluding nonrecurring charges. In the commercial airplanes segment (about 60% of sales and operating profits), Boeing delivered 527 jetliners in 2001, but deliveries are expected to decline to about 380 units in 2002 and 275-300 in 2003.
