TOKYO (Standard&Poor's) Jan. 3, 2006--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today assigned its 'A/A-1' ratings to Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Ltd., following the merger of Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi Ltd. and UFJ Bank Ltd. on Jan. 1, 2006. At the same time, Standard&Poor's assigned its 'B' Bank Fundamental Strength Rating and 'A+' Bank Survivability Assessment, and ratings on its outstanding debt and preferred securities (see list below).
