Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that there is no change to its ratings or outlook on GrafTech International Ltd. (B+/Stable/--) following the company's second quarter earnings announcement. GrafTech's announced earnings are in line with the expectations Standard&Poor's established when it revised its outlook on the company to stable from negative on Jan. 28, 2002. Despite increased sales volume and prices, margins slumped as a result of currency fluctuation rates and the sale of higher-cost inventory. Standard&Poor's expects credit protection measures and debt levels to remain stable for the remainder of 2002.
