Abstract:

Corus Entertainment Inc. (BB/Stable/--) recently lowered its 2002 EBITDA target to C$155 million-C$160 million from C$165 million, and confirmed its debt reduction goal of C$100 million-C$150 million for the year. Standard&Poor's today said this will not affect the ratings or outlook on the company. Corus' revised EBITDA reflects solid performance for its television segment, supported by modest advertising recovery in the third quarter and robust overall subscriber growth. The radio division's 2002 EBITDA is challenged by soft national advertising sales, partially offset by cost reduction. Corus' content divisional revenue and EBITDA declined during the year, however, reflecting the restructuring of its supply output deal with RTV Family Entertainment AG and global advertising downturn.
