NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) Oct. 27, 2004--Boeing Co. (A/Stable/A-1) reported net income from continuing operations of $357 million for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, 2004 (excluding nonrecurring items), compared with net income of $248 million for the same quarter of 2003. Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said those results have no impact on its ratings or outlook on Boeing. Revenue growth of 13% and improved operating margins of almost 10% in the integrated defense systems segment led to another solid performance in the 2004 period, despite higher losses in the launch and orbital systems segment. The commercial airplanes business remained modestly profitable, with results affected by low deliveries and higher R&D spending on the recently launched 7E7 jetliner.
