About This Report

Abstract:

SAN FRANCISCO (S&P Global Ratings) Aug. 3, 2020--S&P Global Ratings today assigned its 'AA+' issue-level rating to Mountain View, Calif.-based digital advertising and technology provider Alphabet Inc.'s proposed unsecured notes, some of which will be dedicated to funding sustainability projects. This is the same as our 'AA+' issuer credit rating on the company because, while subsidiary Google LLC has approximately $300 million of notes outstanding that we view as structurally senior to Alphabet's notes, financial risk is very low. Therefore, we do not notch down Alphabet's notes from the issuer rating. The 'AA+' issuer credit rating reflects Alphabet's strong position in the online search and video advertising markets, strong technological talent, excellent track record of operating performance, and financial flexibility
