NY -- Standard&Poor's CreditWire 11/16/95 -- Standard&Poor's ratings of AMR Corp. and unit American Airlines Inc. are affirmed and removed from CreditWatch, where they were placed with negative implications Oct. 3, 1995. The ratings outlook is stable. Debt affected totals about $9 billion. The affirmations and removal from CreditWatch are based on AMR's recent statement that it is not likely to seek an acquisition of USAir Group Inc. unless UAL Corp. seeks to buy USAir, and on UAL's announcement Nov. 13 that it has ended its exploration of that possible acquisition. Accordingly, while AMR has declined comment on the UAL announcement, it appears that a bid by AMR to acquire USAir is unlikely at this time.
