NY -- Standard&Poor's CreditWire 4/24/98 -- Standard&Poor's today revised its rating outlook on AMR Corp. and unit American Airlines Inc. to positive from stable and affirmed its ratings on both entities (see list). About $6.8 billion of securities are affected. At the same time, Standard&Poor's affirmed its ratings on US Airways Group Inc. and US Airways Inc. (see list). The outlook is positive. About $2.7 billion of securities are affected. The outlook revision follows the announcement of a marketing alliance with US Airways Group and unit US Airways. The proposed marketing alliance would involve joining of frequent flyer programs and various other marketing links, with potential later domestic and, where possible, international code sharing.
