NY -- Standard & Poor's CreditWire 7/23/96 -- Standard & Poor's today has affirmed its double-`A' claims-paying ability rating of Allstate Insurance Company (AIC) and maintains the "developing" CreditWatch listing of Allstate Reinsurance Co., Ltd.'s (ARCO) double-`A' claims-paying ability rating, following today's announcement that Allstate Corp. (Allstate), the parent of AIC, has signed a definitive agreement to sell its domestic reinsurance business to SCOR, AS. The claims-paying rating of ARCO was placed on CreditWatch with developing implications on May 1996 following Allstate's announcement that it was reviewing the future direction of its reinsurance operations.
