The Scorelogix Construction Job Security Index increased by 15.4% or 7.4 points (MOM) in October 2012 compared to September 2012 and increased by 62.6% or 67.8 points (YOY) in October 2012 compared to October 2011. The continued improvement in this sector shows that the construction industry is recovering well largely due to more construction activity in the consumer housing segment. However, the seasonal pattern in the construction sector naturally leads to lower demand in winter seasons. So historically, this index has had its worst figures from January to March every year and then recovered later in April or May and then kept growing in the months afterwards. Therefore, Scorelogix predicts the sector to experience insignificant to mildly positive growth in the next 2 to 3 months.
