About This Report

Abstract:

Growth is expected to slow from 3.5% in 2014 to 2.5% in 2015. However, the economy should continue to benefit from low oil prices, sizeable infrastructure spending, a gradual strengthening in US demand, and the lagged impact of this years cuts in interest rates, so we forecast a modest pick-up to 3.4% growth in 2016. The size of the fiscal deficit remains a concern, particularly as key tax reform plans have yet to achieve majority support in the legislature.
