About This Report

Abstract:

The past month has seen a wide range of price trends within the commodities complex. There has been a strong surge in markets like copper and iron ore, which are expected to benefit most from a Trump infrastructure package due to higher demand. On the other hand, markets like thermal coal and Brent have tumbled as higher prospects for US supply appear to outweigh a brighter long-term demand view. OPEC is planning to announce an output cut shortly, which should also underpin oil prices, although oil demand looks very weak heading into year-end.
