Abstract:

Global value added basic metals production is set to slowsharply this year, as weakness in Europe, Japan and theUS help to drag down the total. We now expect basicmetals output growth to slow from 3.3% in 2014 to 1.4%this year. There is also a risk that these global figures look artificiallyhigh for this year, as we have serious doubts about theheadline industrial production figures for China.
