Global production of electronics and computers has shown signs of improvement in Q2. A stronger-than-expected start to the year has led us to push up our 2016 growth forecast. However, stronger growth in 2016 will come at the expense of 2017 and 2018, and we have nudged down our forecast for both years. There are three main drivers of this downgrade. First, we have lowered our medium-term trade forecast. Second, renewed dollar strength will impact both US competitiveness and supply chain pricing. Finally, we have reduced our investment outlook in Japan and Europe.
