Year-to-Q3 global chemical output increased by 2.2% compared to a year earlier. Among the developed countries, chemical output has generally performed poorly this year but, looking ahead, the outlook is mixed. At the same time, near term growth prospects in emergers have been varied too. After estimated growth of 2% in 2016, we expect a modest pick-up to 2.7% in 2017.
