Global chemical production increased by 4.1% compared to year-ago levels in Q3 2015. Declining global oil prices remain an important feature of the outlook while healthy demand from key chemical consuming sectors will support output growth among the varying sub-sectors of chemicals. By region, the US will still benefit from shale gas while Chinese production is not as strong as it seems. Overall, we expect global chemical output to increase by 4% in 2015 and 3¾% in 2016.
