Hopes have again been dashed for an early take-off in aerospace production in value-added terms. Recent data have been weak, particularly in the US which accounts for over half of world output, as faster deliveries fail to feed through into value-added gains in the face of continuing deferred costs. As a result, forecast growth has been reduced further, to 1½% for 2015 and 4% for 2016.
