This quarter, utilities production in developed economies is mostly being restrained by anaemic industrial activity, which is impacting electricity demand. In the medium term, we expect growth to be resuscitated by investment in renewable energy generation as well as grid upgrades. In key emerging markets, disappointing economic performance is hurting the demand for utility services. We expect global utilities output to expand 2.1% in 2016, less than overall GDP.
