For further detail, please see the last page.Market Signals ReviewCONSOL Energy: Two Market-Implied Ratings Decline The bond- and EDF'-implied ratings for CONSOL Energy were both down over the last year.The bond-implied rating was the worse of the two, steadily falling six notches from Ba3 to its current Caa3 (Figure 1), reflecting market concerns over the energy sector. This market-implied rating is currently at its lowest point observed over the last five years.CONSOL Energys EDF-implied rating dropped by four notches from Ba2 one year ago to B3. It recently recovered from its 12-month low point of Caa1.FIGURE 1. The bond-implied ratings gap slipped down six notches from +1 notch to -5 notches (Figure 2).
