LONDON -- Standard&Poor's CreditWire 12/12/95 -- Standard&Poor's affirms its triple-`A' claims-paying-ability rating of Zurich Insurance Company (Zurich) and removes the company from Creditwatch where it was placed April 11, 1995. The triple-'A' claims-paying ability rating of Zurich American Insurance Intercompany Pool, which includes a branch of Zurich Insurance Company as a pool member, also is affirmed and is removed from Creditwatch. Standard&Poor's expects that Zurich will strengthen its capital position by raising a significant amount of new equity capital - in addition to growing capital via net retained earnings and other possible sources - during next year.
