...February 28, 2025 BOSTON (S&P Global Ratings) Feb. 28, 2025--S&P Global Ratings assigned its '##+' long-term rating to Wisconsin's $253.905 million 2025 series A general obligation (GO) bonds. The outlook is stable. "The '##+' rating on Wisconsin's GO debt reflects our view of the state's institutional framework that is supportive of credit quality; economic growth and income metrics that have persistently slightly lagged those of the nation; executive branch with the authority and ability to make midyear budget corrections; healthy revenue collections and resilient budgetary performance; and well-funded pension system," said S&P Global Ratings credit analyst Geoff Buswick. The state's full faith, credit, and taxing power, which are irrevocably pledged to make principal and interest payments, secure the bonds.
