DALLAS (Standard&Poor's CreditWire) May 15, 2000-- Standard&Poor's today assigned its double-'A'-minus rating to Williamson County, Texas' $60 million certificates of obligation series 2000 due Aug. 15, 2020. The certificates are scheduled to sell May 16, 2000. The outlook is positive. In addition, Standard&Poor's affirmed its double-'A'-minus rating and underlying rating (SPUR) on the county's outstanding GO debt. The rating is based on the full faith and credit of the county and reflects sustained economic diversification and expansion and the county's ability to successful manage its rapid population and tax base growth while maintaining a sound financial position and manageable capital program.
