NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's CreditWire) May 18, 2001--Standard&Poor's today raised its long-term corporate credit rating on DTE Energy Co. to triple-'B'-plus from triple-'B'. Standard&Poor's also took various rating actions (see list below) on Detroit Edison Co., Michigan Consolidated Gas Co. (MichCon), MCN Energy Group Inc. (to be renamed DTE Enterprises), and MCN Energy Enterprises Inc. to reflect Standard&Poor's view that the default risk of each entity within the consolidated DTE Energy is the same, which places their long-term corporate credit ratings at triple-'B'-plus.
