LONDON (Standard&Poor's) April 19, 2010--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that it upgraded to 'A-' from 'BBB+' the senior secured ratings on the debt issued by Thames Water Utilities Cayman Finance Ltd. (TWUCF) and Thames Water Utilities Finance Ltd. (TWUF). TWUCF and TWUF are the financing vehicles of major U.K. water and sewerage utility Thames Water Utilities Ltd. (TWUL), the regulated water and wastewater business covering Greater London and the Thames Valley. The upgrade reflects our view of an improvement in the group's business profile within the "excellent" category, driven by the robust improvement in recent years of TWUL's regulatory and operating performance.
